Report: Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark leaked on retail site

A retailer listing has seemingly outed a new Transformers game, titled "Rise of the Dark Spark," for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, and 3DS.

The new generations appear to be readying themselves for robots what turn into cars and jets and so on. A retailer listing briefly appeared for "Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark," slating the robots in disguise to make their first appearance on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, along with PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and 3DS.

Polygon reports that the (now pulled) listing from Amazon UK was pretty bare-bones. It lists Activision as the publisher, but no release target or even a developer. As it happens, High Moon Studios, the dev most known for its recent Cybertron games, has been quiet since the release of Deadpool last year.

"The next installment in the incredible Transformers gaming franchise, Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark is an exciting action game that is perfect for veteran fans and newcomers," read the placeholder text. Helpful!

Elsewhere on Cybertron, Jagex's Transformers Universe MMO was recently turned into a MOTA--short for "massively online tactical action." It's still planned for a summer launch. The next movie in the film franchise, Transformers: Age of Extinction, is set to release this summer as well, so whatever Rise of the Dark Spark might be, it would seem to be falling amid a flurry of franchise happenings.
