Titanfall is taking sign-ups for its beta tonight at 6PM PST.

Update - Those sneaks at Respawn posted the Titanfall beta sign-up page an hour earlier than originally estimated. Thanks, EricZBA! Meanwhile, an EA press release has confirmed that the beta will kick off on February 14. Three game modes will be playable during the beta. Attrition will act as the game's Team Deathmatch mode, tasking players with eliminating all opposing players and AI soldiers. Hardpoint Domination sees teams attempting to control three control points. And Last Titan Standing will continue until one team remains and features no respawns.

Original Story - Strap yourselves in, soldiers, because the Titanfall beta is drawing closer. And according to Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella, you'll be able to sign up for machine-stomping action starting later tonight.

Zampella issued a tweet earlier today that a new Titanfall website would open at 6PM PST for beta sign-ups. The address will be announced shortly before then. (Update: The site is now live)

EA's Origin client will be required for the PC beta.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

I was thinking maybe the site runs on Microsoft's Azure servers and Respawn is trying to see if the servers can handle the rush load. Being a online multiplayer-only game, they can't afford to screw up the launch of the game, no campaign to fall back on.

Getting stuck at the Origin login pop-up... yup.. because no company is ever 'ready' for the level of response that anything of anticipation will produce. nope, never.

Have they said how limited it's going to be? I would hope they accept everyone to stress their servers, but really, I just want to see if the game is any good.

It's supposed to be PC and Xbox One, as far as I know, but not sure about Xbox 360, since that version's being done by a different studio.

Fast forward to launch day.... Sorry for the inconvenience, due to server load please try again later. Two weeks past by and no fix for PC.

I just hope the launch isn't a total disaster like the last few EA games. If games like Simcity or BF4 didn't burn me I would have no problem preordering but I am going to be patient this time around. If I have to pay a bit extra to get day one dlc at a later date so be it.

I believe Microsoft is helping out on the server end, so I don't think server load should be a major issue past the first couple of days. I could be very wrong about this, though.
