Xbox One March update detailed, focuses on improving Live

A system update for Xbox One this week will offer some subtle tweaks to the Dashboard, including a battery indicator for the controller and the ability to see how much space is left on the hard drive. However, next month's planned update promises to be far more exciting.

Central to the March update is enhancing the Xbox One experience, just in time for Titanfall's release. For example, getting to your friends list will be faster, with the list being centered on the homepage of the Friends app. You'll also be able to see "Recent Players," Live members you've encountered in recent matches.

More significantly, party chat will let you talk with friends playing different games. And finally, you'll be able to "Invite friends to game" from any multiplayer title. Similar to Xbox 360, this will appear inside a game's menu.

"The March update includes many more great features," Xbox's Marc Whitten explained. "The improvements to multiplayer and parties are just a few of the features that will be included, and we'll continue to share more details in the days and weeks ahead."
