Humble Sid Meier Bundle celebrates the Civilization creator

Humble Bundle and 2K Games are teaming to celebrate Sid Meier by offering up Civilization and Ace Patrol games, while paying more than the average will offer Civilization V and its expansions.

2K Games has a lot of love for Sid Meier and they're proving it through a new collaboration with Humble Bundle. The latest Humble Bundle will collect some of Meier's best games, including the recently-released Sid Meier's Ace Patrol. But if you're feeling particularly charitable, you can also come away with Sid Meier's Civilization V and both the Gods and Kings and Brave New World expansions.

Humble Bundle patrons can pay what they want for Sid Meier's Civilization III Complete, Sid Meier's Civilization IV Complete, Sid Meier's Ace Patrol, Sid Meier's Ace Patrol: Pacific Skies, and Sid Meier's Railroads. Paying more than the average will also get you Civilization V and the Gods and Kings expansion, while Brave New World will only go to the generous folks that toss in at least $15.

All of these Sid Meier's games come with Sid Meier's Steam codes for PC, and a few are playable on Sid Meier's Mac too.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

Is it me or does the article not actually have a link to the humble bundle?

The link disappeared. That's really weird.

Should be in the second paragraph now.

Should really be in the first sentence or two IMO. It's a big pet peeve of mine to have to puzzle out which phrase in the entire article is most likely to be the most relevant link.

I agree completely. I get trying to support your own brand with the internal links but I hate hunting to find the source.

I'm pretty sure Baba Yetu is the greatest piece of video game music ever written.

It was re-released as part of an original album that was included in a recent music bundle - the entire thing is mindblowing from start to finish.

It won a Grammy IIRC. I've listened to that song countless times.

If you get Civ 5, I recommend the Enhanced User Interface Mod:

No, it's actually installed as a DLC, you don't have to go through the "mods" section to play with it (and you still get all of your achievements).

There are installation instructions on that page, but basically drop the UI_bc1 folder into

          \Steam\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization v\Assets\DLC\

When you upgrade, delete the old UI_bc1 folder and put in the new one.

oh neat, thanks, I didn't know about this. I like UI enhancements but I want to play without gameplay changes for a while

It's through and through a phone game. There isn't much gameplay to it. At all. I played it for about 20 minutes on my PC and was done with it.
