Bloober Team's Bomberman-styled grindhouse game Basement Crawl has gotten a last minute delay, pushed out of this week and into the much more nebulous "first quarter." The studio chalks up the delay to opportunities to enhance the game that presented themselves right as it was reaching the finish line.

“While the completed version of Basement Crawl was prepped for launch during the last week, several exciting opportunities to partner with major industry players to enhance, refine and add-to the game arose,” said CEO Piotr Babieno.. “Although a difficult decision, we decided that the best choice for us, as a team, was to delay Basement Crawl so that we could take full advantage of these opportunities. We will be able leverage those new partnerships to further grow and improve the game while still providing an amazingly fun multiplayer experience for PS4 owners. We’ll be able to announce more details in the days and weeks to come.”

The announcement doesn't go into detail about what exactly these opportunities were, but it was apparently a big enough deal to push the game back entirely. We should have the game, and more detail on the delay, by the end of March.
