"When I ask international friends what they think of Seattle, right off the top of their head," inFamous: Second Son game director Nate Fox muses in a new trailer, "They're like, 'Oh man! Rain!'" It's no surprise, then, that the PS4-exclusive superhero 'em up has some awfully pretty weather effects, and developer Sucker Punch is keen to show them off in a new trailer.

"Our goal was to create an urban playground for the player as they experience Delsin's amazing superhuman powers, so it was paramount that we capture the essence of the city," art director Horia Dociu said in an accompanying PlayStation Blog post. "We wanted to give the player the feeling of walking down an alleyway and seeing the rain accumulate between the cobblestones, and the reflections of the rain-streaked, brick buildings and neon market signs."

It's not all rain and fog, mind. Supposedly the mythical weather effect called "sun" is in the game too, though as a London dweller I find this more difficult to believe than superpowers.

inFamous: Second Son is due March 21 on PlayStation 4. Here's the new trailer:

WOW! That game looks incredible, I was going to likely wait until Uncharted but I loved the first two inFamous games and this game truly looks next gen.

Yeah, I have the feeling that this game will be the first time people look at the PS4 and are like: "Ok... WOW... maybe this thing is serious!"

I've been saying this for the past year but I do believe that once developers get the hang of a closed system with this kind of power, they are going to do some amazing stuff. I think there is a window of about 1 to 2 years where you will need a valcan_s level of machine to put out something better than what that box can do.

That's how it was for the last two generations. Look at Halo 2 compared to the first Halo; and none of us could have imagined how incredible GTA5, Last of Us, or Halo 4 would have looked at the beginning of the 360/PS3 lifecycles.

I'm just excited that inFamous is finally getting it's own spotlight and coming out early in the next-gen cycle with no other PS4 games in sight.

I'm just happy that this game keeps looking better and better. It went from something I was cautious about to a day one purchase. I wasn't a fan of the first two infamous games but I'm starving for new ps4 games to play and this game has me interested.

      That looks pretty awesome.

Btw, I have Infamous 2 (via PS+), but I've never played Infamous 1. Does that matter? I hate when people ask this for story-heavy games, but I wasn't sure if this was even a story-heavy game. Seems more like GTA or Saint's Row game where the story doesn't really matter or it has no real big story arc over multiple games.

Doesn't matter much but the first game is also worth playing.

Two thing:First,I'm so glad that they are using a real city instead of a totally fictitious one.I think it adds more to the game when you are playing somewhere that you know actually exists.

Second, and I'm sure that a lot of people know this already, but there's actually more annual rainfall in NYC than there is in Seattle.Just a little factiod for you.

One last thing,I wonder if Sony is thinking about trying to get Sucker Punch to put extra effort into putting the final touches on the game in efforts to bump up the release date closer to Titanfall. Then again, just thinking about it,by the time iNFamous is released, people would have a few weeks with Titanfall, and maybe boredom will have set in with what looks like repetitive lobby shooter gameplay.
