Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate hits 3DS in early 2015

Monster Hunter 4 has been out in Japan since September 2013, so when's it coming westward? Never, is the answer. However, we will see the revamped version Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, which Capcom announced over the weekend will arrive "early 2015" in North America. Series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto described 4 Ultimate (or 4G, as it's called in Japan) as "the biggest leap forward ever" for the action-RPG series.

"While we wanted to maintain the familiar features that fans have come to love, we really wanted to evolve the series in a new direction to appeal to existing players and attract new ones as well," Tsujimoto said in an announcement video. He added that Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate has "more vertical and lateral movement than ever," which lets it "create more fluid and dynamic hunting experiences."

    Seems like Nintendo scooped up some exclusivity for this one. A really wise decision IMO. When deciding to get either a Vita or a 3DS, knowing that all future MHs would probably be 3DS exclusive made my decision easy. Although a Wii U version would be awesome.

    I still think that a really good Monster Hunter on a major console (PS4 PLEASE!) with a great online co-op mode has potential to EXPLODE on the US market. Monster Hunter games are super cool, but there are just not a ton of Americans who sit around with 3DS' playing co-op games. It just doesn't happen here as much. If they make a user-friendly version of the game with online co-op, it would be AMAZING.

      Well, unlike 3Ultimate on 3DS, MH4 had online multiplayer, and so will 4Ultimate.

    I know I got slightly ripped off paying 60$ for higher resolution 3DS game, but I'd do it again if they released 4 on the WiiU.

  Since it's taking two years to make the Ultimate version and to have it appear in the western countries, I'm really hoping they use this time to make MH4U on Wii U as well.
  
  Otherwise it seems weird to take two years just to make an enhanced 3DS version.
