Bravely Default story trailer evokes bygone Final Fantasy

If you had any doubts remaining that Bravely Default is the spiritual successor to old-school Final Fantasy, let those be put to rest. The new story trailer outlines the premise, and it's one chocobo away from belonging firmly in Square's long-running RPG franchise.

You see, Luxendarc was swallowed in darkness, and four magical crystals have been corrupted, and it's up to a band of four heroes to save the world. Between that plot, the chibi-styled heroes, and the emphasis on job classes, Square Enix could reasonably fool us into thinking this was an update of some obscure Japanese release from 1992.
