The Last of Us will soon be getting a new single-player campaign with "Left Behind," a prequel tale that goes over the events of the American Dreams comic. The adventure will introduce Riley, Ellie's best friend before she encounters Joel. In a new cinematic video, you'll get a glimpse of how the two interact with one another.

In an interview on the PlayStation.Blog, Ashley Johnson, voice actress of Ellie, explained that the DLC will show "a more playful side" to the character. "It's a little bit more 'fun,' because you have two teenage girls going through a mall. It's kind of like a post-pandemic version of two teenage girls hanging out. Definitely not a normal hangout! It's very different--a little more playful."

The DLC will be available in spring.

Looks awesome. What are the odds Naughty Dog releases one more single-player DLC that follows Joel during the early years of the virus? I'd love to follow society during the beginning stages of its deterioration.

It's way too late to start production on new DLC for this game. I mean, it's 2014 and we're all waiting for PS3 DLC. Crazy!

I'm definitely surprised that it took ND so long to put out single-player DLC. They should have struck while the iron was hot and put out two campaigns last year; one in the fall, one around Christmas.

It's too bad. I think there's so much more worth exploring in the TLoU universe, yet it's not a game I'd want a sequel to. DLC seemed their best bet, but as you said, that train has left the station.

At the same time, bite your tongue, sir: Dark Souls 2 will be better than any current-gen game released this year. DARK SOULS 2!!

I think that could be more likely to be the subject of a PS4 sequel.

See, I think Sony wants ND to create sequels, and if that happens, great, even though I don't think it should. But if it does, I doubt we'll revisit Joel and/or Ellie. Their stories are done.

Naughty Dog already said as much. A sequel in that world with existing characters is pointless.

Agreed. And I hope Naughty Dog holds firm. I'd hate to see TLOU become annualized. There's nothing wrong with a big-budget that stands alone and doesn't generate a billion sequels, social games, etc.

So, Riley dies, right? That seems inevitable.

Although I am very interested in finding out about this story, I wonder what the gameplay will be like? and since we already know that she dies, Ellie says as much in the ending of the main game, I hope the journey is completely kick-ass!

I really wish the ps4 had backwards compatibility. I got rid of my ps3's when the ps4 came out and I really wish I could play this DLC.

Ellie seemed as uncomfortable with her BFF sucking on her neck as she was terrified a zombie had bitten her.

this is what pisses me off the most about X1 and PS4. I had to keep my PS3 just so I could play this....
