Twitch streaming for Xbox One delayed 'a few more months'

Live streaming from Twitch is all the rage on Shacknews, but those hoping to do it from their Xbox One will have to wait a while. Twitch says it could be "a few more months."

Live streaming from Twitch has become a popular feature, especially around Shacknews. Unfortunately, those hoping to stream an Xbox One exclusive like Dead Rising 3 or Killer Instinct are going to have to wait a while longer, as Twitch integration has been delayed.

Twitch stated on Twitter (via Gamespot) that there is no word from Microsoft on when direct broadcasting will be enabled on Xbox One. The company is guessing "a few more months."

Microsoft had previously stated that it was aiming to deliver Twitch sharing "during the first part of 2014."

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

A bummer, but hopefully this means they're putting a little more effort into it and not just playing catchup.

It seems possible that they are delaying this because they are trying to solve it with software where as Sony dedicated a piece of hardware for the feature. Makes me wonder if there will be a performance hit while using it on the xbox.

There's a performance hit just for using a xbox one.
