The folks at Special Operations Forces Studios, home to a number of former Zipper Interactive alumni, have unveiled the first footage of their spiritual successor to the SOCOM series. A new videos shows off early pre-alpha footage of H-Hour: World's Elite, nearly six months after the game was successfully crowdfunded.

A disclaimer in the opening seconds points out that H-Hour is a work in progress and has yet to receive any sort of tuning. However, what's on display does show the kind of tactical military action that helped define the SOCOM series for so many years. Oh, and dancing. There's dancing in it, too.

It's far too early to estimate a release date, but H-Hour: World's Elite is aiming to release on PC and PS4 when it's finished.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
