Wargame: Red Dragon debut trailer shows pretty side of war

Though Eugen Systems makes, by many accounts, respectable RTS games, the creator of R.U.S.E doesn't seem to have garnered much recognition. Here, have a gander at the first trailer for the third game in its Wargame series, Red Dragon. It may not demonstrate quite how the game will play, but certainly shows that it'll be pretty. Pretty, pretty wars.

Red Dragon comes in the wake of last year's Wargame: AirLand Battle, this time jumping over to central Asia for a conflict raging around North Korea from 1971 to 1991. It'll add China, North Korea, and three other new nations, along with 450 of their units, which brings the game to over 1,300 in all. Publisher Focus Home says that it "essentially retains the same game mechanics that made the series so successful," but also bungs naval and amphibious units into the mix.

Focus neglected to mention when Wargame: Red Dragon's PC release will be, the forgetful dear.

Looks great. Bringing back memories of working on C&C. I guess Eugen Systems gets to carry that torch now.

Will be interesting to see how well the naval warfare is. Adding in air in the last game was pretty awesome.
