Alien: Isolation coming from The Creative Assembly and Sega, stars Ripley's daughter

Microsoft has outed Alien: Isolation, confirming long-standing rumors about the sci-fi horror game from Total War developer The Creative Assembly.

UPDATE - Sega has confirmed that Alien: Isolation will come to PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One in late 2014. The Creative Assembly calls it "survival horror," and it's going back to its roots by only presenting one of the titular aliens to avoid. ORIGINAL STORY - Microsoft appears to have now confirmed long-standing rumors about the next game set in the Aliens universe. Titled Alien: Isolation, the game is said to star the daughter of series protagonist Ellen Ripley as she attempts to investigate her mother's disappearance. A listing on the Xbox Live Marketplace spills the details:
"Discover the true meaning of fear in Alien: Isolation, a survival horror set in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger. Fifteen years after the events of Alien, Ellen Ripley’s daughter, Amanda enters a desperate battle for survival, on a mission to unravel the truth behind her mother's disappearance. As Amanda, you will navigate through an increasingly volatile world as you find yourself confronted on all sides by a panicked, desperate population and an unpredictable, ruthless Alien. Underpowered and underprepared, you must scavenge resources, improvise solutions and use your wits, not just to succeed in your mission, but to simply stay alive."
The listing also names The Creative Assembly as the developer, and Sega as the publisher. All of that aligns with a Kotaku report from October, which apparently correctly identified the title, studio, and basic plot details. Some environmental screenshots also leaked in December, as reported by Eurogamer, and four of the Marketplace shots are the same. This only outs it for the 360, of course, but it seems unlikely that this would be exclusive to the platform.

I worry this is going to be an Amnesia clone. Those play patterns don't feel very appropriate to the universe.

Creative Assembly has yet to give me evidence that they are capable of making a full fledged game that's not flawed with bugs.

Total War is conceptually excellent and for what it is was a good game. However the studio has not matured and refined the series despite frequent regular releases. Other than Shogun 2 and Rome/Medieval 2, the series has been slowly degrading.

Since there is no Wii U version to be done, it's on my lists for PC.

But only if it is a good game, and not shite like Randy Pitchford's Colonial Marines.
