The upcoming Smash Bros game for 3DS and Wii U may share a roster, but they're becoming two very different games. Not only do the two versions have different looks, but they have different stages as well. Now, director Masahiro Sakurai has confirmed that they will have different trophies to collect as well.

"There will be trophies in the 3DS and Wii U games, and each version will boast different types and models," Sakurai explained on Miiverse (via IGN). "The 3DS trophies will be mainly from handhelds and the Wii U version will feature trophies from the home-console games."

That logic applies to stage selection in the two games as well. The 3DS version of the game will feature stages that are inspired by Nintendo's handheld games, while Wii U will focus on console games.
