In spite of being one of the first games ever revealed for PS4, not much is known about Capcom's online dungeon crawling game, Deep Down. Subsequent trailers have only added befuddlement, as has the revelation that the game would be free-to-play.

A "2014 Prologue" trailer from Capcom doesn't do much to make things any clearer. You'll get a peek at some co-op battling, some new monsters, and yes, what appears to be another nod at an Assassin's Creed-style future storyline of sorts.

This should be Capcom's answers to Dark Souls' surprise popularity, but my gut says that it's a pale imitation.

I really don't think that's what this is. While it obviously shares some aesthetic values with Dark Souls, it looks more like Monster Hunter with the multiple people working together on big monsters and such. I realize Dark Souls has this to some extent, but the gameplay we've seen makes me think MH and not DS.

I've got my fingers crossed that this will be cool, but at the very least F2P means it'll cost nothing to try.

I feel like this is going to be basically Lost Planet, but with fantasy elements.

So Lost Planet is non-fantasy? x)
