In Japan, where only 1% of the population is Christian, they still celebrate Christmas and say "Merry Christmas". Why aren't we in the west allowed to mention Christmas?
I'm an atheist myself but this PC bullshit really pisses me off. It's truly pathetic to throw away your own culture because you're terrified of offending somebody. Are you really that ashamed of yourself?

Well, the op could say Merry Festivus, Dies Natalis Solis Invicti, Yule, Anastasia of Sirmium, Malkh, Boxing Day, Kwanza, Saint Stephens, Hanukkah, Merry Christmas either secularly or religiously, etc., or they can just sum up all the holidays with one simple phrase and avoid forgetting anyone... something like Happy Holidays.

Great straw man. It's not about being "ashamed", it's not about being "PC", it's about not being a needlessly exclusive, especially given the facts of how much of its traditions are straight up rip-offs from other religions' holy days and rituals.
See: The date of Christmas, the date of easter, the eating of bread as (proxy for) flesh of the savior/god, being born to a virgin mother, birth being marked by celestial signs, the story of the resurrection, etc. etc.
Maybe just have a bit of good will and sense of inclusion and just "happy holidays" rather than insist on merely the latest religious expression of such ideas being the valid one to mark in public in the west during this (as mentioned earlier, co-opted) period -
