The atmospheric puzzle game Year Walk is getting ready to skulk its way off iOS and onto PCs. Developer Simogo says that it will hit PC and Mac via Steam sometime in early 2014, with several updates to tailor it to the new platform.
In a post on Simogo's blog (via Joystiq), the studio explained that "the ambition is to make the game feel right at home on the new platform." It will feature a completely new control scheme, using the WASD keys for movement and the mouse to look around with your cursor. Any puzzles that relied on iOS features, like multitouch or tilt, have been redesigned or even entirely swapped out for new puzzles. That means new art and sounds, and a new location in the forest for one puzzle in particular. It will also include the associated companion app as part of the main game.
Other changes include enhanced visuals with more effects on-screen, a map, and a hint system to help you out if you get stuck. The announcement also promises some surprises even if you played on iOS.
