The Division PC edition 'won't be a port'

Keeping his stare fixed on the horizon, the cowboy slowly reaches for his rifle. "Something's spooked the PC gamers," he mutters, tobacco drooling from his lip. Relax, you guys! Tom Clancy's The Division developer Massive Entertainment has merely whispered a few more words about its commitment to making a solid PC version. Settle down now.

"As you know, Massive has its roots in PC development. We are working hard and we want to make sure that we have a very high quality experience on PC," Massive said in its last community Q&A sparked by fan questions. Nervous fan questions.

"You can be sure that our PC version won't be a port, but a full-fledged, optimized version! We want to create the best game possible regardless of what platform you play on."

Massive expressed a similar sentiment when it announced in August that it was bringing The Division to PC, partly in response to fan feedback. Angry fan feedback.

The Division is expected to launch in 2014 on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

Good to hear! This game looks like a lot of fun, but now all I am concerned about is the system requirements. I'm sure my system will run it, but at what level?

Yeah me too, will I be able to max it out at 1920x1080 (no AA) with my i5-760 and gtx 670?

Probably. With Battlefield 4 I can match the PS4's PQ with a 7850. I don't imagine this game will be much more complex.

And, since it isn't an FPS, you can get away with lower framerates. It'll probably be 30 on consoles.

I had no idea this was going to be a PC title. For some reason I was thinking it was PS4 only. Count me excited!

After the news about Destiny I am glad to hear this coming from them. Really looking forward to seeing what this game is like once people get a feel for it.
