During a Nintendo Direct presentation today, the company announced a new Chibi-Robo game for the 3DS. Titled Chibi-Robo!: Photo Finder, it uses the system's cameras to capture real-world objects and bring them into the game. It's coming January 9.

Chibi Robo will be tasked by a museum curator to collect objects like plug outlets or a roll of toilet paper, and you'll have to find them in real life to transfer them to the game. A set of "Nostalgia Challenge" community events will come sometime after launch as well, and will be included free for anyone who bought the full game.
