During our original hands-on preview of EKO Studios' zombie survival game, How To Survive, publisher 505 Studios pointed out that a Wii U version of the game was in development, alongside the game's PC, Xbox Live Arcade, and PSN versions. While the latter editions launched in late October, a Wii U version was nowhere to be found. 505 Studios has since acknowledged a delay and points out that a Nintendo eShop version remains in the works.

505 Games confirmed the news to Nintendo Everything (via Joystiq), noting that the Wii U version of How To Survive remains in development. It is now slated for a 2014 launch.

How To Survive puts characters in control of one of three survivors on an abandoned island filled with zombies. While the premise isn't the most original, it's mixed in with some interesting dungeon crawling elements and some intriguing real-world survival mechanics that require characters to stay fed, hydrated, and well-rested to have any hope of survival.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
