Nom Nom Games, the indie offshoot of Dungeon Defenders studio Trendy Entertainment, has announced its first project: Monster Madness Online. The free-to-play action RPG shooter is slated for release in May 2014 across PC, Mac, Android, Linux, and iOS platforms, but Nom Nom notes that it's designed for cross-platform play.

A pre-alpha will be available to test the cross-platform service starting on December 19, via the official site. It will also run on Web browser's via Mozilla's technology to allow Javascript games without a plugin.

The game stars four high school archtypes: Zack Fowler (nerd), Andy Gomez (skater), Jennifer Sweeney (cheerleader), and Carrie Rosenberg (goth). Seeing as the Martians' plan had the huge oversight of not affecting anyone under the age of 18, the teenagers team up to beat down some aliens. Let's be honest, Martians, that was a pretty bone-headed move.
