Nintendo declares 'National StreetPass Weekend'

Nintendo has declared December 14-15 "National StreetPass Weekend," when it will mix the StreetPasses from relay points to let you snag some from faraway lands.

Nintendo will be making it easier for you to fill in the 50 states with 3DS StreetPass targets soon. Declaring this Saturday and Sunday "National StreetPass Weekend," Nintendo will use the recently-added relay points to shuffle your data to states you've never set foot in.

Nintendo World Report (via Joystiq) reports that December 14-15, Nintendo Zones will shuffle their relayed StreetPasses. That means that by heading to a participating Nintendo Zone, you can bump virtual fists with people from all over the country, and ideally fill in some of the missing gaps from the flyover states--or if you're in a flyover state, fill in some gaps from the coasts.

When I lived in Chicago I got a streetpass on the train. I told my roommate about it, and she thought that having a stranger's Mii pop up on your 3DS was creepy.

I was recently in Japan for two weeks and had around 320 different people show up. Probably would've gotten more if it wasn't for the fact that the thing maxes out at 10 people until you greet them at the gate.

Yep. Although the games got old after a while when I was there.

I just thought it was cool "meeting" so many people from a different country.
