Today's patch, free to everyone, adds two new maps in the shape of 'Hill 331' and 'Don River,' Steam Workshop support for maps made by players in the World Builder, and more.

As for the DLC, that's the 'Southern Fronts pack for Theatre of War mode. This introduces vehicle-slowing mud to the game, and brings two new Solo Challenge maps and eight AI Battles. It'll be available shortly for $4.99. Here, have a peek:

I've gotta give this game a try again during the Christmas holidays. Only played the first couple of singleplayer missions but then got stuck because normal difficulty is actually quite hard.

Looking to pick this up when the next sale hits. And, hopefully adding Steam Workshop will simplify finding and adding maps. Some times adding maps for CoH1 was a bit of a pain (well, really the run time flag).
