If you're like Steve Watts, then you've probably spent an embarrassing amount of money working on building your Skylanders collection. Today, a new app will let you more easily manage your collection of toys and share them for the world to see.

The Skylanders Collection Vault is a free app for iOS that lets you discover Skylanders characters and learn about their backstories. You can keep track of your collection, make a wishlist, and unlock special content.

You can pick up the app for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad here.

To celebrate the release of the app, fans can create a wishlist and send it to SkylandersCommunity@activision.com. Five winners will be randomly chosen to win up to 25 Swap Force toys.

"The Skylanders Collection Vault app will be the perfect mobile companion for all Portal Masters looking to learn more about their favorite characters and get to know new Skylanders characters," Activision SVP Josh Taub said in the announcement. "Skylanders continues to be the #1 kids' video game franchise of 2013 and we have an ongoing commitment to provide our fans the best experience possible. We're excited to offer Skylanders fans the ability to immerse themselves in a completely digital version of their collections."

Andrew Yoon was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.

      It's a pretty neat app.

Only downside is I cant actually put any of my collection in atm because its asking for web/sticker codes and I'm not home.

      Interface is pretty slick though.

      9/10 - would bang.

Heh, they saw what Infinity had done with their iOS app and probably rushed to get something out there. Still, regardless of motivation, this sounds like a solid, useful app.
