Microsoft has announced that gameplay clips captured on Xbox One can be uploaded to SkyDrive, its free cloud-based storage system. The benefit of the service is that you'll be able to easily download your captured files, making it easy to share your clips through other video services like YouTube. A new trailer shows off the capture and editing tools that come standard on the system, which altogether look pretty easy to use.
Like Xbox One, PS4 also has video sharing, albeit through Facebook, which compresses the video fairly drastically.
Since Xbox One is constantly recording, you can just let it know to keep a clip that has already been captured after a particularly interesting bit of gameplay by saying "Xbox, record that." Keep in mind, of course, that the game DVR requires a Gold subscription, so sharing through SkyDrive would be useless without.
SkyDrive users have access to 7GB of free storage, with more storage available for purchase.
