Are you ready for the "next generation of Spike TV's Video Game Awards"? Spike TV has announced the launch of VGX, a "brand new live digital multi-platform event." Why such a fancy name? Because it will be streamed across Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, Twitch, iOS, and Android. It can also be watched online through VGXLive.com, Hulu, Yahoo, Spike.com, ComedyCentral.com, MTV.com, MTV2.com, BET.com, and GameTrailers.com. The show will be livestreamed for three hours on December 7, beginning at 3PM PT (6PM ET).

Oh, and "highlights" of the show will be on Spike TV as "VGX Replay" on December 9th.

"VGX will continue the tradition of showcasing world premiere game trailers but for the first time ever, the show will offer extended demos of the next generation of games, 1-on-1 interviews and panels," the announcement reads. "The new format allows VGX to dive deeper into the world of gaming and extend its coverage beyond award presentations in a more intimate studio setting."

Of course, if you can't tune in to any of those venues, you'll be able to read our coverage on Shacknews. It promises to be Snarky, especially if we can convince Alice to work over the weekend.

Andrew Yoon was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.
