Naughty Dog revealed new story-based DLC for The Last of Us during tonight's PlayStation Live event, going into Ellie's backstory. Titled The Last of Us: Left Behind, the very brief teaser shows Ellie and Riley Abel from the game's prequel comic approaching an abandoned carousel.

The PlayStation.Blog notes that this story-based DLC will put players in control of Ellie, as it explores some of the events of the Boston quarantine zone that lead into the main game.

The Last of Us: Left Behind will release in early 2014 and will be part of the game's Season Pass.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

Thought it was going to be about that woman you read clippings about going through the underground bunker area with the makeshift school. Kind of disappointed..

She still might play a role. Waaaaay too early to say given that really vague teaser.

They want to make it obvious that they will still support the PS3.

Tales of Xillia 2 on the horizon means my PS3 is not going anywhere just yet. I've also yet to finish Puppeteer and Beyond: Two Souls yet.

I'll say this, I'm sure glad I bought that HDMI splitter!
