PlayStation 4 includes $10 PSN credit; Plus and Music Unlimited trials

Console manufacturers have traditionally had a little trouble getting everyone to realise they can go online even for multiplayer, let alone to get games and music and all that. To really rub the point home, Sony's throwing a few vouchers in the box with every new PlayStation 4, offering $10 credit to spend on the PlayStation store, 30 days' free PlayStation Plus membership, and 30 days of Music Unlimited.

"The network now expands across a wide array of digital entertainment including incredible multi-player gameplay, availability of full games day and date, streaming movies and TV shows, and a premium cloud-based music service," Sony said in the announcement. As people will be more likely to notice if you dangle a voucher in front of their nose.

Offering a Plus trial is also a way to give people a few more games to play, as this month Plus members on PS4 will get Resogun and Contrast for free.

I think they really want people to get invested in digital. I think the fact they have SO MANY digital games at launch says that.
