The latest Batman: Arkham game was not developed by series creator Rocksteady. But, of course the studio is working on something. And whatever it is, it's coming in 2014.

Internet supersleuth Superannuation discovered several job postings matching text of Rockstead's career openings for what is "tipped to be one of the most successful games of 2014." If all goes according to plan, it looks like Rocksteady's next will be ready next year.

It's likely Rocksteady is working on a proper sequel to Arkham City. As clearly labeled by the title, the recently-released Origins was a prequel. Kevin Controy, the de-facto voice of Batman said he was working on an Arkham game--but he doesn't appear in Origins.

Rocksteady teased "Arkham World" at the VGAs, which many viewed as a prank pulled by the Joker. However, Warner Bros did also register the "Arkham Universe" domain name, suggesting many more games to come in the Arkham franchise. With two developers working on the franchise on alternating years, it appears Warner Bros is well on their way to annualizing the franchise.

I wish it was the TNMT rumor instead of Batman: Silver Age. As cool as a Silver Age batman is, the new TNMT given the Rocksteady treatment would totally make my day.

Wasn't the Silver Age thing just a rumor? Personally I'd like to see them do some other headline DC property that has never gotten a great game, like Superman or Justice League

My first thoughts as well. I really want to see a more mature big budget TMNT game. Kevin Eastman even owns Heavy Metal, so he could merge aspects of Heavy Metal with the TMNT Universe, then blend it into a Rocksteady game with the really engaging combat of the Arkham games and they would have a solid game that would interest players of all ages.

Dear God, please don't let Warner turn Batman into an annualized game. I'd say let Rocksteady take their shot at a new IP, or even a new superhero. We still don't have a good Superman(though I'm convinced it can't be done without artificially gimping him).

Sorry to say it, but there are already all the signs of an annualized franchise brewing. There's an "A team" (Rocksteady), a "B team" (WB Montreal), and helper studios doing mobile tie-ins (NetherRealm, Armature) and auxiliary coding (Splash Damage did multiplayer on Origins).

        The timeline, from Wikipedia:
        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman:_Arkham (yes, there's a Wikipedia franchise page)
        Main games:
        2009: Batman: Arkham Asylum
        2011: Batman: Arkham City
2013: Batman: Arkham Origins (WB Montreal / Splash Damage)

        Mobile tie-ins
2011: Batman: Arkham City Lockdown (NetherRealm, iOS/Android)
2013: Batman: Arkham Origins (NetherRealm, iOS/Android)
2013: Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate (Armature, 3DS/Vita)

I know, they have a lot of talent here and they better not fuck it up and just release Arkham sequels. Like, I'll be fine with this potential "Arkham Universe" from Rocksteady just because the series is pretty freaking good. But anything after that I just will not be interested in at all.
