We're rapidly approaching the witching hour, the day of the year set aside to celebrate scary things. You know, things like ghosts, and goblins, and vampires, and typing. To that end, Sega has released The Typing of the Dead: Overkill, a revival of the classic franchise about killing the undead by showing basic keyboard proficiency. The typing-zombie-murder hybrid is $9.99 on Steam right now, a 50% discount from its standard price. That price is only available through Halloween. It also includes a "full and faithful" port of the PS3 House of the Dead, and two-player co-op to come as DLC sometime in the future. For those unfamiliar, The Typing of the Dead is basically an on-rails zombie shooter, except your bullets are words. Type them accurately to shoot zombies, type them inaccurately to get your brains eaten. Simple in concept, dazzling in execution.

Wonder if this would be a good way to learn DVORAK. I've always wanted to change to that.

HOLY SHIT! Why did no one tell me there was a new Typing of the Dead before now? The original is one of my favorite cheesy games of all time.
