Assassin's Creed 4 trailer shows off PC graphics bits

We've already seen fancy graphical whizzbangs in the next-generation console versions of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, but the PC has a few extra tricks up its sleeve. A new trailer from Nvidia shows off a few effects the graphics card company has worked with Ubisoft exclusively for its cards, which may not be huge but are welcome.

Nvidia seems to be thankfully restrained this time around, holding off on garish PhysX effects. Or not boasting about them, anyway. PCnauts with Nvidia cards, and enough processing muscle, can look forward to tech including Percentage-Closer Soft Shadows, improved "god rays," Horizon Based Ambient Occlusion+, and Temporal Anti-Aliasing. Basically, they'll all make for nicer lighting and fewer harsh edges.

AC4 launches Tuesday for Xbox 360 and PS3, but the PC version isn't due until November 19.
