Grand Theft Auto Online players were supposed to get a large injection of in-game funds starting this week, but the money hasn't come yet. Rockstar has now explained the delay, stating that it's holding off on the stimulus cash until it stamps out more bugs in the Grand Theft Auto 5 multiplayer mode.
"We know many of you are anxiously waiting for us to show you the GTA$ Stimulus Package money we announced a couple weeks back," Rockstar stated. "As mentioned in that post, we of course want to ensure that game progress loss issues are sufficiently sorted before distributing the GTA$ to everyone. We have a few more tweaks and fixes to make in a new title update that will hit sometime next week and then we will distribute the cash."
The same statement also mentioned that the Beach Bum pack and the Content Creator are still planned to be free. The Beach Bum pack is coming in November, while the Content Creator is simply planned for "fall."
The most pervasive bugs were addressed by a recent patch, but Rockstar is apparently still working to smooth over the game experience. That leaves the in-game currency a little up in the air for the time being.
