There's no shortage of supernatural-themed games for Halloween this year. Developer Scientifically Proven and Midnight City (Majesco Entertainment's indie label) are throwing a new monster mash into the fray with Blood of the Werewolf, a platformer that promises a difficulty level as hairy as its heroine, on October 28.

Blood of the Werewolf centers around a female werewolf named Selena, whose husband has been murdered and whose child has been abducted. Using her crossbow in her human form or her werewolf form in the light of the full moon, Selena must venture through 15 levels of intense platforming to get her child back. Along the way, she'll be enacting revenge on some of the monster world's most familiar names, like Hyde, Dracula, and the Mummy.

Scientifically Proven is promising an homage to the hardcore platformers of the old days with Blood of the Werewolf, which is also slated to come to Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U in the near future. To check out what you're in for, sink your teeth into the trailer below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
