Rocket Arena UT Out (Again)

If UT gives me one more general protection fault i'll uninstall the Direct3D-weapon/wall-clipping-ass-bastard...Ow yeah, and before the lame "get rid of your 386" posts come along: Athlon 700 {asus k7v}, 256 mb, TNT2 ultra [175/200] and 7200 rpm drives [ATA100].

Heard from a friend that UT crashes a lot with AMD cpu's [the athlon based ones, that is] because is has some probs with signaling with AMD cpu's [UT is very CPU dependent]. Don't know if this is true, all i know is that the &^%*$*^ engine keeps crashing on me, while EVERY other game or other piece of software on my harddrive [halflife (CS), Q3a, Q1, starcraft/broodwar] runs like charm. I find it strange, since unreal 1 was the first to support 3Dnow! when it came out [you kwow, for the K6-2, that slow-ass budget cpu wich you buy if you haven't got the cash for a real one and don't mind that your dad's OEM-comp outperforms your 1337-gaming-rig]. Someone have an idea what the problem is?

Gamplaywise i found the UT demo far better than the full game. Though it came with a only a few maps and weapons, things were balanced pretty good. Not like the full [to the guy that invented the redeemer: up yours].

Ow well...back to CS, i guess. :)

I'm glad I uninstalled UT last month...UT by itself is a really stupid joke, but I decided to give it a few more chances by waiting on some cool mods.Well, it is quite obvious that nothing can save UT, I'll admit Deus Ex is really cool, but its funny that the only bad thing about it is the engine.As for UT:RA I can already tell it is just plain shit, it doesn't change UT therefor it is crap.I wish ppl would just admit that the only reason they like UT is because they suck at Q3..after all they just copied Q3 and stuck it on a pathetic engine.Seriously, if Q3 is just too fast for you to play well, get a GOOD slower game like HL and DL counter strike.

Hey all. Just got back from a Mariners game, holy hell it was a long one. Like 5 hours. It's still not over (I left early).

Okay, Just played a bit of UT:RA

It's not bad. Some of the maps are extremely well designed and you could tell they were made for 1vs1 2vs2. In my opinion the perfect UT version of Rocket Arena.

My only grippe... No Pickup Games?

I suck at 1vs1. I always found the 5vs5, 6vs6 insanity of a Q2 RA Pickup much more enjoyable than the rather "Mines bigger than yours" mentality of a 1vs1.

So, Breaks down to this.
Q3-RA - Excellent considering the Shit game (Q3) that it was built from. I refer to Q3-RA as the Q3 patch that put the "fun" into it. hehe
My only grippe. Lazy Server Admins that run the same fucking 3 maps over and over and over.

UT-RA - It's Rocket Arena for Unreal Tournament. UT Fans rejoice!! Much much fun. Another feather in UT's cap. (right beside Deus Ex)
