Total War: Rome 2 adds Steam Workshop support

A new content update for Total War: Rome 2 deployed over the weekend adds formal Steam Workshop support, while also adding a playable new faction.

A new patch for Total War: Rome 2 went out over the weekend, adding formal mod support through Steam Workshop. Players will be able to share and load their creations through the Total War Launcher, allowing for easy management of single and multiplayer mods.

There are currently 143 mods available, most of which adjust units and tweak turn counts. But fans are already dreaming up new mods, including those based on The Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, and even Skyrim mods.

The latest batch of weekly free content also adds a new playable faction: the Seleucid Empire. Players can now select unique Seleucid units, building and technology trees, campaign objectives, and a new wonder: the Paradise of Daphne.
