And yet another PS4 launch game bites the dust. DriveClub, a PS4 racing game from the developers of MotorStorm, was supposed to be ready in time for the console's November 15th launch. Instead, it has been delayed to "early 2014." That includes the free PlayStation Plus version too.
"The team requires more time in order to deliver on their vision--and I'm fully confident the game will surpass your expectations," SCE Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida said in a comment today.
Speaking on the PlayStation.Blog, Yoshida defends the current PS4 launch lineup, which also recently lost Watch Dogs. "PlayStation 4 gamers will have no shortage of titles to play this year. At launch alone, we have Killzone Shadow Fall, Knack, Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, FIFA 14, Call of Duty: Ghosts, and Battlefield 4 to name but a few, as well as the incredible list of indie games coming to PS4."
Because DriveClub was supposed to be part of the PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection at launch, it will be replaced by a new game: Contrast. However, DriveClub: PlayStation Plus Edition will eventually be part of the IGC when it's available.
