Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy trailer shows 8 minutes of gameplay

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII may be the most-advanced FF game we'll see in the current generation, actually launching after the next generation of consoles, but it certainly still remembers the old ways. A new gameplay trailer shows eight minutes from the sequel-sequel, full of series touchstones like chocobos and fighting weird blobs.

The trailer also gives a good look at the improved combat system. It may not be quite as flashy as the real-time action-o-rama coming with Final Fantasy 15, but it's looking pretty good.

Lightning Returns is due February 11 on PS3 and Xbox 360, having suffered a lengthy delay.
