The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is about six weeks away from bringing fans back to the world of SNES classic A Link to the Past. To make the wait that much more agonizing, Nintendo has released a new trailer for Link's new adventure, detailing the new story and the game's new villain.

The trailer shows off the game's new villain, Yuka, bearing a visual resemblance to series villain Ganondorf while wielding the magical prowess of the wizard Aghanim from Link to the Past. The villain is seen turning people into flat 2D paintings before fleeing into walls. Familiar locales, like Hyrule Castle and The Lost Woods, are seen throughout this vignette.

The trailer ends curiously in a different world, referred to as Lorule, with Princess Hilda calling out for a hero just like Link. You can watch the whole thing below. Just try not to get chills when you hear the iconic opening title screen music from A Link to the Past near the end.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

I really dislike the art for this game. In the thumbnails it almost looks like classic snes, then you enlarge it and it's really bad 90's 3d.

The top down looks okay to me, it's the cinematic bits that looks like shat.

In games, Link has either blonde or brown hair. I want a black Link. The hero of time can therefore be any kid. That's what I'd do anyway while they experiment with different art styles. I also await for a Zelda game that takes place in a modern day setting. Doesn't mean they can't go back to simpler times as there are many heroes of time.

Lemme guess, did you complain about the wind waker (game cube) visuals when it was announced way back, but only to have the visuals seep in and really start to enjoy the actual game?

I have no idea why they did that when they have The Light World and The Dark World from A Link to the Past to work with. This doesn't really look like a sequel, just another Zelda game.

I want to play a Legend of Zelda game where I play as Zelda (a real Nintendo one, not that weird CD-I game that happened, hahah). I've seen some really cool fan concepts and it seems like it would be a lot of fun.

This is the first I've seen the "Only on Nintendo 3DS & 2DS" logo. Can't say I'm a huge fan of the wording there...

I tried. I really did try not to get the chills when the Link to the Past music came. I KNEW it was coming
      I ANTICIPATED it.

I still failed. I'm gonna be on this game so hard.

"I better turn the 3D up" SAID NO ONE EVER.

Nintendo finally realized that and made a 2D link.

I ONLY play 3DS games with the 3D on. It's the only way to play.
