I remember in high school we were fooling with a mac, and we noticed that every time you opened a window, 1k of available memory would disappear, even if you closed it again. So if you opened enough windows you'd eventually run out of available ram and have to reboot. That was a l337 (0mp|_|+3r I tell ya

The only reason people like MacOS over anything else is the interface, which is a purely arbitrary thing.

Technically, and everyone who has any insight into the workings of modern os knows this, MacOS is a pile steaming crap. Most of the technology that goes on behind the scenes on MacOS is similar to what we see from Microsoft during the Windows3x debacle.

So here we have it. Macs cost more for less -general- performance to use an OS that is technologically inferior to most everything else available. The only good thing about it is it has some very good multimedia authoring software, and on some of that software will actually outperform comparatively priced pc boxes. Err... well it did when the G4 was first released anyway, but since Apple performance doesnt improve linearly like it does on PC's, that probably isn't true today. As for home use, the ONLY reason I can see to use a Mac is if you prefer the interface. You get screwed everywhere else.

But Mac's still suck goatass.

Apple spends more time throwing a fuss when developers start to complain about apple and their ways, than they do actually helping developers out. Seems to me that there are a few people not doing the correct job there (too worried about public image and what their bosses think)

For games I use win/tel win98

My server runs linux

In a couple of years as linux gains more game support as well as hardware. I'm sure i'll move my gaming to linux.
Which will leave win98(whatever)out.

Knowing just one OS must be strange. Akind to just being able to drive automatic trans cars.

The thing that I love about mac's is the people that love them and will defend them until the day they die. I remember when I got my first 3dfx card, and was showing a mac friend. "but dude, the mac allocates it's memory better so it will never need a 3d card, ever" hahahaha...Times haven't changed much.

Yep... Apple does it again. The biggest threat to Apple is Apple. I know that an infinite number of monkeys banging away on an infinite number of typewriters will eventually churn out the complete works of Shakespeare, but it's not the best way to run a multi-national corporation.
