CD Projekt RED, the creators of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, have created one of the most obvious teaser trailers we've seen yet. Without explicitly announcing a comic book adaptation of The Witcher series, the company has announced a collaboration with Dark Horse Comics meant for "fans of the fantasy genre."

The teaser adds: "There's a mystery near the edge of the Black Forest. We'd like to invite you to fear it with us."

The company promises a full reveal at New York Comic Con next week.

Excellent. I actually enjoyed the English books that are available, Geralt is just a great character. I'll read/play whatever they release!

What makes him a great character? He always felt like a generic fantasy badass to me. It doesn't make the games any less for it, but he definitely never struck me as nuanced or interesting beyond the requisite questions about what his memory loss hid(es).

Well because of the choice in the game Garalt is as interesting as you make him. But I wouldn't say he is just a generic fantasy badass, I mean he is a fantasy badass, but there is more to him than that. How do people react to Witchers and how Garalt responds to them. And in general the constant moral choices Garalt is faced with that are not explicitly right or wrong just moral shades of gray. That is what makes him a great character.

But those are player choices. I guess what I'm saying is: what about the character as pre-written in the books or this comic book?
