Hackers, cyborgs, transhumans, and mere meatbags, delight: more Deus Ex is coming. Eidos Montreal today announced a yet-unnamed new game is in development for PC and next-gen consoles, as the centrepiece of a transmedia blitz called Deus Ex: Universe. It also confirmed that the revamped Director's Cut of Deus Ex: Human Revolution will launch October 22 on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U. Studio head David Anfossi explains in a blog post that trans-human segregation is "a backdrop to our vision for the next Deus Ex." He drops a spot of fine concept art, which he says "represents a 'ghetto-city' voluntarily built in order to separate the classes. The people in this segregated class have reshaped their environment, nostalgic for their ideal of Cyber Renaissance." It's still early days so we shouldn't expect to hear much for some time, but Anfossi says that "most of the team behind Deus Ex: Human Revolution is already working hard on this new game." The Deus Ex: Universe transmedia-o-rama is also to include mobile games and things, books, graphic novels, and other typical tie-in fare, so it seems to mostly be a branding exercise.

Honestly, I didn't really get into DX1 until way too late so I kinda can't get into it now. It may have been great at the time, but the beginning of DX1 now is kinda hard to get into. I LOVED DX:HR though and am eagerly anticipating this game. The level of detail that went into DX:HR was amazing.

I didn't play DX1 until DXHR came out. But I think I liked the first one better! HR is amazing, but DX1 is just something special. DX1 also took my 50 hours to complete while HR took 30.

nice. only downside is all that random stuff they want to do with phones and t-shirts and coffee mugs seems to be slowing them down on the core game.

I'm completely on board as long as its not some dumb MMO and Deus Ex: Universe sounds like it.
But if its not, then bring it on!

Lost interest in the DLC, it was too much of an afterthought. For me the story was over once I completed the incredible main game.
