How Assassin's Creed 4 for PS4 will use DualShock 4

Assassin's Creed 4 will feature some Dualshock 4-specific touch pad controls on the PS4 version, all of which appear to be UI-related, for the moment.

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag is set to release at the end of October on current-gen consoles, but a new preview offers some insight on the upcoming PS4 version. Specifically, it shows off some of the functions tied to DualShock 4's new touchpad.

A preview by Rev3Games shows the touch pad accessing the in-game map. Touch controls scroll across the map and zoom in and out, functioning similar to a laptop's touch pad. Tapping on the touch pad will create a custom waypoint. So far, the touch pad controls look to be tied to UI functions, as opposed to other titles that are using it for gameplay purposes, like InFamous: Second Son.

Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
