The Flashback remake, having gone through its requisite exclusivity period from the Summer of Arcade promotion, is preparing itself for a PC release. It's set to launch on October 1, with a PlayStation 3 release date still unconfirmed.

It's now available for pre-order at the usual haunts (Uplay, GameFly and Steam) for $9.99. It was intended as an update to the stylish 90s action-adventure game, but reviews have pegged it well below that mark. While critics seem to like the visual flair, frustrating controls are a common complaint.

I shall put it on my wish list and buy it when it's 75% off.

The quicklook made it look bad.

hmm, i was wondering if it was really just bad or people that played the original are just butt hurt that it's not an exact copy in 1080p

Seems the gameplay controls are buggy as hell and it just isn't fun to control

I'd rather use my old Flashback CD and play in DosBox or bust out the trusty old SNES and play it on that.

This is all kinds of awesome. It seems like I'm spending all my money on remakes these days
