The cutscene sees Lightning throwing down against her former chum Snow in the city of Yusnaan. Or something. It's pretty, I know that much.

It'll be a long time before you see this at the start of your game, though. In June Squeenix delayed the sequel-sequel from its planned fall launch until February 11, 2014.

I'm sad to say it looks silly. :/

You are right, these cinematics used to be fantastic. Now they make me sad.

Really? I thought that was pretty BA, kinda made me interested in the game.

Square makes really cool visual CGI movies, but I can never understand wtf is the story line in any of them.

Playing the two previous games might help...but maybe not.

Except for one scene late in the game, I think it's all pretty coherent. It's not a particularly complex story. The second game is far more twisty and frankly, silly.

I enjoyed the gameplay itself in the FF13 games, but the story is incredibly convoluted and difficult to follow. Having finished them, I still don't really get wtf I played 60 hours on.

The story in 13-1 wasn't, aside from bombarding the player with terms. At least it was more coherent than 7, which even has a character, Hojo, feeding you red herrings.

      *fondly remembers Final Fantasy VI*

Oh my... what has Square done to this series? Final Fantasy is dead to me.
