  • Pro Mode. Classic Quake Arena. These are the two mods that have redeemed the pitiful vanilla Q3 in my eyes. They restore the hardcore skills and the action that id turned its back on by trying to appeal to newbies. They also restore an understanding of what makes a decent DM level. (Hint to id: it's not flat and it doesn't hang in outer space.)

Target Quake is easily one of the best looking mods ever -- its 2d levels are head and shoulders above what most mappers do in 3d. There's a subversively cool retro throwback feel in turning Q3 into a side-scroller.

Looks like the Lovecraft-inspired mod that's being made has potential too. But these roleplaying rip-offs of Team Fortress, and these games where everybody always carries a doomsday weapon... heh, whatever.

  • oh yeah, and this is just these peoples opinion onwhat they like best...

and u should give WFA some credit, a lot of work went into that mod, and they are still putting a lot more work into it. just because you guys dont like it, doesnt meen it sucks. It just meens u dont like it. Its like saying "oh well i dont like any classical music, so its all shitty music, it just oozes crap" whatever.

and another thing, its not like ra3 is some pice of golden code either, i meen i like it, i like it a lot, and if it came out sonner i would prob say it was the #1 mod, but still, besides the mp3 player it not really anything we have not seen in a mod.
