We got a brief glimpse of the classes in Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare during the trailer for the Xbox One exclusive Boss Mode. A new Q&A with producer Brian Lindley sheds a little more light on the how the playable plants and zombies will balance out against each other.

"On the plant side we've taken a lot of the original characters from the original Plants vs. Zombies," Lindley said. "We have the Peashooter which is kind of our infantry styled character, the Sunflower--very familiar, a sort of a healer class for the plant team, we have the Cactus who's sort of our long range specialist--sniper if you will and then The Chomper who's a really interesting mix of close range melee."

Lindley says the Zombie side required them to get "a little more creative." He didn't share much on that creativity though, only saying that the Soldier is very similar to the plant Peashooter, and that the football zombie has been turned into the "All-Star" and "given a few more tricks up his sleeve." The trailer previously also showed an Engineer, and Scientist, and seemed to tease an explosive zombie.
