Are you ready for some football? Days ahead of the NFL season kicking off, Microsoft has revealed that the Xbox One's NFL and ESPN apps will both arrive in November, presumably in time for the console's unannounced launch date. This is, of course, the beginning of a multi-year partnership with the NFL.
The NFL on Xbox One app will feature live games, scores, stats, and highlights. It will also enhance the Fantasy Football experience by working with NFL.com, NFL Network, and NFL Red Zone. The Snap feature will allow fans to watch live games and track their fantasy teams simultaneously, whether they're watching a game or anything else that might be on TV. The app will require Xbox Live Gold and an NFL.com account. "Additional subscriptions and/or requirements apply for some features," such as NFL Red Zone.
ESPN on Xbox One will expand on many of the features currently available on the Xbox 360's ESPN app, offering WatchESPN, ESPN.com, and ESPN 3 video content, both live and on-demand. Like the NFL, the Xbox One's ESPN app will also feature Snap mode capability, for personalized scores and stats, whenever you're watching something like Monday Night Football. The app also requires Xbox Live Gold, and a video subscription from "an affiliated service provider."
