VVVVVV floating onto Vita

Terry Cavanagh's platforming spike-fest VVVVVV is hitting the the PS Vita. However, while the 3DS eShop version features a number of platform-specific elements, it appears that the Vita version won't come with any additional bells or whistles. But it'll come with spikes! A whole lot of spikes!

Nicalis' Tyrone Rodriguez offers a quick overview of VVVVVV for the unfamiliar on the PlayStation.Blog. The idea is to avoid cleverly-placed spikes by moving from left to right and inverting gravity using the X button. It's fun and incredibly masochistic. "The gravity switch is an insanely awesome concept that allows for hundreds upon hundreds of clever puzzles," said Rodriguez. "What you'll find after a few minutes of playing is that you need to change and redefine your perception of a platformer, and how you think and find solutions to the challenges in front of you."

VVVVVV is currently available on PC, Mac, and Linux (DRM-free), as well as the 3DS eShop. A release date has not been given for the game's VVVVVVita version.
