Microsoft has announced the "Games with Gold" promotion for September: Magic 2013, and Rainbow Six Vegas.

The Xbox 360 "Games with Gold" program marches on. August offered us Crackdown and Dead Rising 2 (with Case Zero) for our Gold investment, and Microsoft announced today that September will get its own critical hits.

Magic 2013 (ordinarily $9.99) will be available starting this Sunday, September 1 and lasting through the 15th. After that, it will swap out for Rainbow Six Vegas ($19.99) until September 30.

Microsoft plans to swap out the games twice per month, through at least the rest of the year.

I haven't played either, but not having the current edition of Magic and having an old ass Rainbow Six game is kind of lame when you see the stuff PS+ subscribers get.

Hey people just a heads up RSV1 is one of the only games that has ever had proximity based microphone input for multiplayer so if you've never tried it you deserve to at least give it a shot to see how awesome it is.

What is proximity based microphone input you ask? That is when you have a 5.1 or better surround setup and if your teammate talks to you then you hear their voice coming out of the appropriate speaker based on the direction of their character and proximity. Also if someone on the enemy team is talking then you can hear their voice in relation to where your character is.

It's a truly impressive tech and I was disappointed that they removed it for RSV2.
