PlayStation Plus continues to impress with its monthly updates to the Instant Game Collection. September's offerings are especially noteworthy. Coming to PS3 in September is the HD remake of ICO, the updated arcade shooter Galaga Legions DX, and Resident Evil Chronicles HD Collection. The latter includes The Umbrella Chronicles and The Darkside Chronicles, updated in HD with support for PlayStation Move.

As impressive as the PS3 offerings are, Vita owners have even more to look forward to. Headlining this month's update is Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, which will work on both Vita and PSP. Rayman Origins is also coming to Vita--although do note that much of the game is hidden away in Rayman Legends.

Do note that a number of other high-profile games are leaving the service, so make sure you add them to your Download List before they leave Plus. (You'll be able to re-download them any time later, so long as you keep your membership active.)

Don't get too excited about GTA: Liberty City Stories. I bought Vice City Stories forgetting that it wouldn't take advantage of any of the Vita's shiny new features. Looks kind of crappy, and the controls are definitely lacking -- it'd be amazing if it used that second analog stick. :/

Well, considering they're both PSP games, that isn't surprising.
